Career
After completing her B.Tech degree, Ritu Varma participated in the Miss Hyderabad Beauty pageant and became the first runner-up. She made her acting debut on the small screen through a short Telugu film “Anukokunda” in 2012 and received the Best Actress award.
Telugu Cinema
She made her big screen debut in Sreenu Vaitla’s Telugu film “Baadshah” in 2013 as a supporting actress opposite NTR Jr., Kajal Aggarwal, Brahmanandam, and others. She was seen as a lead actress in her 2nd Telugu film “Prema Ishq Kaadhal” in 2014 opposite Harshvardhan Rane, Sree Vishnu, and others, which was directed by Pavan Sadineni. In 2015, she acted as a supporting actress opposite Nani, Malavika Nair & Vijay Devarakonda in the Telugu film “Yevade Subramanyam”, for which she was nominated for the Best Supporting Actor (Female) at IIFA Utsavam.
She received breakthrough success for her role of Chitra in the Telugu film “Pelli Choopulu” in 2016, for which she was nominated five times for Best Actress award and won two awards including Best Actress award by Nandi Awards, and Best Actress South by Filmfare Awards South.
