Sridevi worked in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Hindi & Kannada cinema. She stepped into Indian cinema at the age of 3 & half and emerged as the First Female Superstar of Indian cinema. She was also a trained classical dancer. She worked in a total number of 268 movies including Hindi 72, Tamil 74, Telugu 92, Malayalam 25 & Kannada 5.
Tamil Cinema
She made her film debut in A. P. Nagarajan’s Tamil mythological film “Kandhan Karunai” as a child artist in 1967 at the age of 3 & half. She made her acting debut as a lead actress in K. Balachander’s Tamil romantic thriller film “Moondru Mudichu” in 1976 opposite Kamal Hassan, for which she was nominated for the Filmfare Award. After that, she gave several hits to the Tamil cinema including 16 Vayathinile, Sigappu Rojakkal, Pagalil Oru Iravu, Varumayin Niram Sivappu, Meendum Kokila, Moondram Pirai, and many others.
In 2015, she made her comeback in Tamil cinema through Chimbu Deven’s film “Puli” as Queen Yavanarani. She worked in a total number of 74 Tamil movies.
Malayalam Cinema
She made her Malayalam film debut as a child artist in “Kumara Sambhavam” in 1969 at the age of 6. She was seen as a lead actress in “Abhinandanam” in 1976 opposite KP Ummer & Jayabharathi. In 1977, she played a double role in I. V. Sasi’s film “Angeekaaram” opposite Prameela, Vincent, KP Ummer & Sukumaran. She worked in a total number of 25 Malayalam movies.
Telugu Cinema
She made her Telugu film debut as a child artist in “Maa Nanna Nirdoshi” in 1970 at the age of 7. Her first Telugu film as a lead actress was “Padaharella Vayasu“, directed by K. Raghavendra Rao and released on 31-08-1978, for which she was nominated for Filmfare Award for Best Actress Telugu. She made a total number of 92 Telugu movies including her best films Karthika Deepam, Premabhishekam, Aakhari Poratam, Jagadeka Veerudu Atiloka Sundari, Kshana Kshanam, and many others.
Hindi Cinema
She made her Bollywood film debut as a child artist in “Rani Mera Naam” in 1972 at the age of 9. She made her Bollywood acting debut as a lead actress in Bharathiraja’s romantic drama film “Solva Sawan” in 1979 opposite Amol Palekar. She worked in a total number of 72 Bollywood movies including her best movies Himmatwala, Sadma, Nagi, Mr. India, Chandni, Lamhe, Khuda Gawah, Laadla, Judaai, and others.
In 2004, She comeback through the Hindi television serial “Malini Iyer“.
After her comeback, she gave two hit movies to the Indian cinema titled “English Vinglish” in 2012 & “Mom” in 2017.

She made her Kannada film debut as a child artist in “Bhakta Kumbara” in 1974 at the age of 11. She was seen as a lead actress role in S. P. Muthuraman’s film “Priya” in 1979 opposite Rajinikanth. She worked in a total number of 5 Kannada movies.
Death
Sridevi died on 24-02-2018 at the age of 54 from an accidental drowning in a bathtub at Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel, Dubai, UAE. She reached Dubai on 20-02-2018 along with her daughter Khushi to attend the marriage of her nephew Mohit Marwah and was staying at Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel’s Room Number 2201.

She never went to school or college due to enter in Indian cinema at an early age. In a 2013’s interview with The New Indian Express, she revealed missing out on her carefree childhood due to entering the film industry at the age of 3 & half.
